The raw calf hides are prepared in different chemical and mechanical processes for the actual tanning. Besides mechanical equipment, good raw material and experienced employees, to attain exceptional calf leather, one needs one more important ingredient – a great deal of time.
Typically, chrome salts are used in the tanning process and they make the permanent conversion from hide to leather. Our present day tanning is based upon the principles of the first successful metallic salt tanning process applied in Germany. It was awarded with gold medals at the world exhibition of 1893 and 1894, in Chicago and Antwerp respectively.
Therefore, without exaggeration we can proudly state that our present tanning process in one of a kind and considered one of the best in this field of business.
